Application area

Dysaesthesia in diabetic polyneuropathy.

Dosage and use

In case of severe dysaesthesia in diabetic polyneuropathy, the intravenous administration of 600 mg alpha-lipoic acid daily (equals one injection bottle Thiogamma^® Turbo-Set) is recommended in adults.

In the initial treatment phase, the injection is administered intravenously over a period of two to four weeks. The intravenous administration should be carried out slowly, administering the content as a short infusion for at least 30 minutes. The infusion is administered directly out of the bottle, using a standard infusion set and the attached light protection bag. Since the active substance is light sensitive, the injection bottle should be removed from the folding box shortly before use. The minimum infusion duration of 30 minutes has to be ensured.

For maintenance therapy 300-600 mg alpha-lipoic acid in oral dosage form is applied.
