Store ampoules at +2 to +8 °C in the refrigerator and protected from light. Administration is slow intravenous (i.v.). The duration of use depends on the clinical picture and laboratory diagnostic parameters.
For prophylaxis of vitamin C deficiency in prolonged parenteral nutrition, adults receive intravenous (i.v. ) 100-500 mg ascorbic acid per day (up to one ampoule of Centricor® Vitamin C), children intravenously (i.v.) 5-7 mg ascorbic acid/kg body weight per day.
Methemoglobinemia in children: a single intravenous (i.v.) injection of 500-1000 mg ascorbic acid (equivalent to 1 to 2 ampoules of Centricor® Vitamin C) is given. If necessary, repeat the administration with the same dosage. A dose of 100 mg/kg body weight per day should not be exceeded.
One ampoule of 5 ml injection solution contains 500 mg of ascorbic acid (vitamin C). 1 ml of injection solution contains 100 mg of ascorbic acid (vitamin C). For other ingredients, please refer to the directions of use.
