Vitamin C substitution during parenteral nutrition: to prevent a vitamin C deficiency during long-term parenteral nutrition, adults receive intravenous (i.v.) 100-500 mg ascorbic acid per day, children receive intravenous (i.v.) 5-7 mg ascorbic acid per kg body weight per day.
Methemoglobinemia during childhood: once 500-1,000 mg ascorbic acid (equals one ampoule Centricor Forte vitamin C) are intravenous (i.v.) injected. If necessary administration with same dosage has to be repeated.
The administration takes place slowly intravenous (i.v.). A dose of 100 mg per kg body weight per day should not be exceeded. The duration of the administration depends on the clinical picture and the laboratory diagnostic parameters.
One ampoule of 5 ml injection solution contains 1.000 mg of ascorbic acid (vitamin C). 1 ml of injection solution contains 200 mg of ascorbic acid (vitamin C). For other ingredients, please refer to the directions of use.
